A list poem: The Sweater
The sweater, once new, now old and worn,
The sweater with your name on the sleeve.
The sweater that lies in my top drawer,
The sweater I wore as I grieved.
The sweater that you gave me to remind me of you,
The sweater I still wear when its hot.
The sweater I wear when i’m sad and cold,
The sweater that I can’t get rid of.
The sweater now stained with tearstained cuffs,
The sweater that reminds me of fall.
The sweater that I love and I hate so much,
The sweater that’s seen it all.
